खुशबू भरे सांझ यूँही घूमने को;

सारी रात बेतूका चीखने को;

पैमाने में छलक गयें;

बहुत नुकीला था;

बहते बहते सूख गए;

मुर्छित, हर्षित और मंद सड़ जाती है;

उतना ही आधार हीन दिखता है;

आडम्बर की परिधि में बंधी तुम्हारी दृष्टि;

मैं अपनी कल्पनाओ में कैद करना चाहता हूँ;

तुम्हारी आहटों का इंतज़ार रहता है;

जब मुझे चिढ़ाने को बेताब हो जाएँ;
सुबह से शाम गुज़र दूँ;

छोड़ आता है;

लौटना मुमकिन नहीं;

नस नस में बहता होगा;

सूरज को चूमना चाहता है;

छोटा सा पात्र हूँ;

प्यासे चूल्हे जलते हैं;

तेरे ही दरबार से;

आधे चाँद की ख्वाइश;
टेढ़ी मेढ़ी सच्चाई;
विचारों के विवाद;

एक चिराग़ दफ़न था;

सारी बात करना चाहता हूँ;
फिर से जीना चाहता हूँ;

मैं आँगन में अपने;

और उस पार तुम;

Who is your Daddy

Election fever in India (currently more pandemic than the Swine flu) has once again shifted the pan of balance in favour of slothful Indian bourgeoisie. Interestingly, celebrities from every corner of Indian subcontinent are displaying their sporadic reverence to the masses. While Hema Malini was spotted struggling against flies and heat in some village to convey aaj basanti ke ijjat ka sawal hai, Sanjay Dutt was heard propagating Gandhigiri and Jadu ki Jhappi.

In a concurrent development, IPL (floundering to justify its origin, name, vision and motto) , the worshipped crickets were traded, ill treated and publicly insulted by their owners for their failures. The gems of nation are celebrated more as people’s personal entertainment paraphernalia and gambling cards.

People in the service industry fear to the emotion and irrelevant arguments of western clients. Nature of jobs and employment rate in the developing nations depend of the algebra of western economy. The western economy is driven by liquidity, credit availability and banking systems. Bankers, business tycoons, consultants and traders anticipate China, India and Middle East as their potential business spot. The formula for investment includes several factors of local demand. Big fishes from western economy offer all sort of lucrative offer to persuade the middle class of developing nations. FMCG giants pays millions to celebrities with flurry of stupid, irrational and unrealistic advertisement campaigns to coax the middle class of developing nations.

Ironically, the middle class is the most neglected, struggling, dissatisfied and unnoticed mob.

Most of the artists, who claim themselves to be mavericks and iconoclasts have to struggle for their existence. The primitive requirement for any such launch pads or platforms is to cater the public demand. The desire and quest to change the world redefines in changing themselves.

Ironically, most of the boasted achievements of such artists include the art at which he wanted to avoid or mock at.

Picasso says “I myself, since the advent of Cubism, have fed these fellows what they wanted and satisfied these critics with all the ridiculous ideas that have passed through my mind. The less they understood them, the more they admired me. Through amusing myself with all these absurd farces, I became celebrated, and very rapidly. For a painter, celebrity means sales and consequent affluence. Today, as you know, I am celebrated, I am rich. But when I am alone, I do not have the effrontery to consider myself an artist at all, not in the grand old meaning of the word: Giotto, Titian, Rembrandt, Goya were great painters. I am only a public clown - a mountebank. I have understood my time and have exploited the imbecility, the vanity, the greed of my contemporaries. It is a bitter confession, this confession of mine, more painful than it may seem. But at least and at last it does have the merit of being honest. (Pablo Picasso, 1952)”

The series of arguments related to these events boil down to a simple question “Who is your Daddy”

London Calling...

और साथ तुम, रात तुम;

सब उससे ही तो पूछने जाते हैं;

जिंदगी की तरह गोल, बिल्कुल गोल दिखती है;

ये बादल भी, कितने पागल होते हैं;
दूर देश से लाते हैं;

Book Mark

मुझको चुपके झोंक देना;

उपहार में, सूखी टहनी छोड़ जाता है;

हर बार अपने हाथों में किल ठोकता है;

Professional Mails

For an outsourcing service industry, the number of so called professional circulating mail was an enigma for me. I thought to understand the physics behind it and wrote some equations. The result was interesting...

The market forces always defined in terms of supply and demand.

So, for an outsourcing industry the forces behind number of such mails
= modulus of (Demand - Supply)

And, the fluctuation of market depends on large difference of supply and demand. Therefore, a negative factor should be present.

Mails = - modulus of (Demand - Supply)

Demand = (Global GDP + Currency fluctuations + Political Conditions + Socio-Economic Conditions + Others) * ( Factor of Cost ) ^n

Supply = (Local GDP + Labour Force + quality*efficiency*client satisfaction)* ( Factor of Cost ) ^m, where m and n are some variables.

Therefore, Mails = - modulus of (Global GDP + Currency fluctuations + Political Conditions + Socio-Economic Conditions + Others)* ( Factor of Cost )^ n - Local GDP + Labour Force + quality*efficiency*client satisfaction)* ( Factor of Cost ) ^m

For an normal economic condition n=m=some constant
Mails = - modulus of (A) * ( Factor of Cost )^n - (B)* ( Factor of Cost ) ^m
= - ( Factor of Cost ) * Some Constants

Factor of Cost is a variable.

Thus mails = - a one degree variable* Constant

This is an S.H.M . If market fluctuates more the equation takes logarithmic or exponential form.

I was trying to experiment with style of poems. It came in my mind to design 4 liner poem, where the first three lines will define same object through different subjects (Science, Arts, Maths..). The last one will be philosophical end to these. I thought to call it "चौकड़ी".

By- वर्तिका

Wallet

So many murders for leather to preserve fate,

Handy, trendy, branded, I prefer it for my date,

My wallet is wet in tears, have recession in its eyes,

We shrink our life as we grow up in size.

पगली चूड़ी का स्पव्न सुना है;
पगली चूड़ी का स्पव्न सुना है;

मैं डरता भी हूँ, लड़ता भी;

Black Blood - Fingers

I can hear some fingers,

Have you heard them too…

Please do not disturb them,

It will all turn blue….

The fingers are boasting

They have cracked some digital codes,

Infuse some enduring patience,

Soon, they will format the old roads

Hey…

No, I am not lost;

Not even busy and baffled in booze,

I can’t follow the fingers,

I dreamed them, fixing me in screws…

Hey…

I am not running,

I’ve just avoided the taps,

I don’t want the bubble of life,

To smother me in gaps

The fingers are calling,

Have you heard them too?

I can hear some fingers,

Have you heard them too…

Black Blood

Do you think, I like the taste of the wall?

Do you think, I fear every sardonic call?

So you think, I smell and hide a lot…

Do you think, I care for your thought?

The chains are cold, dry and silent

And I know,

They offered you some soothing,

Dream proof treatment

Hey…

I am not sorry to refuse the offer of your shoe

I am not sorry for no time to hear you.

Its not some grass, its not any fatuous ebriety,

I am not sorry to refuse you are pretty

Do you think, in the dessert I will drink the paints?

Do you think I will sell my sin to saints?

So you think I am jumbled in my dots,

Do you think, I care for your thought?

अंश अपना गर्व से कहते मुझे;

Guilt Pleasure

Mercury was challenging the lowest limit of the year. I was shivering under the newly constructed flyover with some old memories and a gold flake in my hand. The flyover was my most significant and ambitious construction project till date. Completion of this flyover was had much to do this gold flake. Probably, this was my last fag.

Shadows and desires share at least one very common fact. They spread their wing of dominance in relation to their distance from light and reality. I started smoking, when I was in my second year of under graduation. Gold flake was least expensive and so the first choice of middle class bachelors. My existence without a gold flake was not imaginable those days. I shared my luck ,bad luck, job interviews, sad moments and happiness with that wrap. I associated smoking to my days of struggle and my days of graduating life.

After my graduation, I entered corporate battleground with waves of changes shaping my life style. Everything from my hair style to my shoe laces underwent a phenomenal change. I had separate wallets to carry my plastic money, currency notes and visiting cards. I attired in latest market brands and had my own car. Even, the gold flake found Marlboro as a new substitute.

Smoking and miracles always excited me. However, the idea to quit smoking was more fascinating and having some miraculous exit would have made it a masterstroke. I thought to jot down this script with some gaudy dialogues. However, I decided not to sweep off my old foot prints for showcasing my new pair of shoes and thus decided to tie off old poignant strings with a last puff of gold flake only.

The gold flake thought, like many of my other thoughts was very similar to few strange new relationships, which enter your routine accidentally, then follow you, haunt you, delight you and finally drive your steps. Although absurd, but I often design some reasoning to justify myself from these thoughts.

Memories and thoughts unfold their dimensions, when you are alone. I was sitting alone on a broken bench under the flyover with that probable last puff gold flake. Although, synchronization of events could not have witnessed better moment than that, but my mind was responding only to words of my college physics lecturer. His lessons denied existence of two objects at a same place at same time. For me, thoughts are also objects and today many of them were dwelling inside my mind. I could even sense all the needles of my wrist at the same place which was adding flavours to the mood of romanticism.

Tickers of my wrist watch and my trembling shoes were disturbing the grave silence of that ambience. I was waiting to meet the managing director of my construction company. He promised me to meet after his late-night show to discuss the latest most promising project of the company. Floods of thoughts were reverberating in my brain. I was looking at the ruins of that last gold flake. Suddenly, a car stopped in front of me. It was the managing director. When someone brings a ray of hope to you, your eyes start imagining halo around him. I could sense a similar halo around my managing director also.

He opened the door of car ,came near the bench and offered a cigarette to me. Every big discussion should start with spark and smoke. I hesitated for a moment, looked at the crushed butt of the probable last gold flake, smiled and accepted the new cigarette.
